Earth, our planet. The address to us all humans and other living and nonliving things. Some even call it the biosphere, the environment in which we live in.
Because major portion of earth is covered by water as we all know.
“I can find God in nature, in animals, in birds and the environment”, says Pat Buckley. This is a quintessential example of life. A gift that the creator has provided us with. E.O.Wilson quotes,”Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive, and even spiritual satisfaction.” Which is indeed true. The beauty, the resources are certainly immeasurable.
But are we using it the way we should be? Well now let me not portray myself as a vivid environmentalist. I do love nature. But the point here is that we have acquired so many boons from Mother Nature, and we being the rational animals have certainly made the most it. But at the same time misused it in my ways. I’m sure you’d agree with me.
So what is the flip side? There must be a way to repair the damages we’ve caused isn’t it? Or at least prevent from causing more damage. And one of the best ways to do it is by following the simple three “R’s”, that is Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
A lot of measures have been taken in this regard and it certainly helps a great deal. Let me not get to the technical part to explain what happens in recycling, because we all know it helps convert waste materials into reusable objects to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials and of course prevent a whole lot of pollution.
Some countries have considered it a priority and made it a big success; But still there are a few more places on earth which need serious awareness on this matter.
Man has certainly achieved a great deal of success and now begun to discover life on other planets of the solar system, but that doesn’t mean he must create landfills on earth and set about discovering beautiful valleys on other planets, Earth is equally important and was once a beautiful place to live and if we all work together, then we can make it a better place to live.
